TAHZINGDONG HISTORY
TAHZINGDONG is a non-government voluntary organization working on environment and socio-economic development in the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh. It has emerged on 15th December 1999 with the collaboration of a group of youth students and energetic youth social workers through an informal consultation between them in Bandarban Hill District of Bangladesh.
The Energy Globe World Award 2016
TAHZINGDONG achieved The Energy Globe AWARD on the best practice projects as solutions for Climate change-related problems. The award ceremony as a part of the UN Climate Change Conference was taken place on 10th November’2016 in Marrakech, Morocco. Government members of almost 200 countries and 2000 participants took part in this conference. The Energy Globe World Award is today’s most renowned environmental prize with around 2000 sustainable projects submissions from 178 countries. Out of the many great projects and inventions, the international jury of “The Energy Globe World Award-2016” has selected the project “Community-based Conservation of Village Common Forest in Rowangchari, Bandarban” won the1st prize out of the 16 most outstanding projects worldwide. This is the first time Bangladesh has won such type of prestigious world award from the “Earth Category” from Energy Globe.
